Q: Do I have to have a dive certification to enter?
A: Yes, we are looking for women who have already earned their dive certification equivalent to basic open water in order to apply. If you do not have your certification but are interested in participating, please contact us. There are still ways you may be able to participate until you earn your certification and are eligible to compete.

Q: What is the cost to enter?
A: There is a $60 entry fee to apply for a Scuba Queen Ambassador role. Additional fees will apply if selected as a Finalist and invited to attend the Scuba Queen Crowning weekend. This entry fee covers operational costs and support for the winner to prepare for Miss Scuba International. The entry fee is non-refundable and is a donation to the program. Volunteers do not benefit from proceeds. (Entry fee is subject to change.)

Q: Do I have to have pageant experience to compete?
A: No, we welcome women with or without pageant experience. If you do not have pageant experience, we will guide you through each phase of competition and give you the tools to prepare for competition. Most of our winners in the past have not had any form of pageant experience and still walked away with the title of Miss Scuba International.

Q: What kind of time commitment does Scuba Queen USA need to agree to?
A: The contestant selected as Scuba Queen USA agrees to be available to attend and compete in the Miss Scuba International pageant which takes place in Malaysia from November 15-28, 2025. If for any reason Scuba Queen USA is unable to fulfill the role of competing in the MSI competition, she will forfeit the title and the 1st Runner-Up will assume responsibilities for the remainder of the year. Once the contestant arrives at the meeting point of the MSI team, MSI will assume responsibility for hotels, transportation, food and programs during competition*. Individual contestants will be responsible for incidentals, tips, and any additional purchases made. Fundraising is highly encouraged to assist with fees required. (*Subject to change, pending 2025 MSI Contract.)

Q: What are the expectations of the Scuba Queen USA titleholder?
A: The Scuba Queen USA titleholder is expected to travel to Malaysia at her own expense but with the support of the Scuba Queen committee. She is expected to represent the brand both in person and on social media. This means that the titleholder must act in good faith and with good moral character at all times. She is expected to attend events and appearances set forth by the committee and will pursue opportunities that support the Scuba Queen USA brand.

Q: How much of a time commitment does an applicant need to make to Scuba Queen USA?
A: An applicant has the right to withdraw an application at any point prior to the selection of the titleholder. Once selected, the titleholder agrees to represent at the international competition in Malaysia, set to be held at the end of 2025, and in the time following until another titleholder is selected. This time frame could be one full year, or greater, depending on the scheduled date of the competition the following year. If at any point the titleholder wishes to resign as Scuba Queen USA, a runner up may fulfill the duties expected by the committee.

Q: What kind of support does the committee provide to Scuba Queen USA?
A: Our team of formers have years of combined experience and connections in the dive industry and the field of ocean conservation. Our team will support the new titleholder as she prepares to compete at the Miss Scuba International competition by preparing her for each area of competition (interview, onstage question, evening gown, talent, swimsuit modeling and photoshoots, and group scuba diving.) We will assist in the pursuit of sponsors and financial support prior to traveling to Malaysia. After the international competition and throughout the year of duty, our team will provide appearance opportunities for the titleholder that support the brand and her individual goals during her year of service. The Scuba Queen committee will support the titleholder by providing information and resources, but the titleholder understands she has full financial responsibility to travel to Malaysia. Once in Malaysia, the room and board, including diving, is covered by the Miss Scuba International committee. (*Subject to change, pending 2025 MSI Contract)
